Sometimes your favorite ideas aren’t approved by the client for any number of reasons. That doesn’t mean they weren’t great. These are some of the cooler concepts that may not have gotten the green light, but showcase the highest level of creativity.

WORLD WAR Z: With only four weeks until the premiere of World War Z, we were asked to put together concepts for the opening date. We pitched using the Cinerama Dome as a giant billboard, which would reveal be pulled down the day the film premiered to reveal one of two structures. The structure would be built out of extruded plastic forms. Several of the zombies would have articulating arms and legs, so the mass of creatures would appear to move, along with smoke that would wind around the piece.

THE LONE RANGER: We pitched turning a Manhattan train station into the western town of Colby featured in the movie, using wraps and extruded plastic. The train would also be turned into the movie train, complete with interior and exterior wraps and extruded plastic soldiers, Tonto and a Lone Ranger.

STAR TREK: INTO DARKNESS We pitched turning a Manhattan train into the Enterprise, complete with door that would “whoosh” like the doors of the Enterprise whenever they opened, and sounds of photon torpedos whenever the train reached it’s main stop.
